Little Baby Hamilton is 4 1/2 months old already! He is such a good-natured boy, always laughing and cooing and observing. He loves to just take things in. Miss Lori at daycare says he is totally content all day just watching all the "big kids" play. He's doing great at daycare, napping well, enjoying the stimulation, and always cheerful when I pick him up.
He had his appointment last week, and is now 14 pounds even, which means he's doubled in size since we took him home (birth weight was 7 lbs 5 oz, but by the time he went home, he'd dropped to 6 pounds, 8 oz). That puts him in only the 15% for weight, but 50th for head size and length. His weight took a steep jump this month, which is great. Although tiny, he's growing just fine and reaching all of his milestones. He rolls everywhere now, and can't be left alone or he'll run into a wall or a table or start eating the TV cords. However, he's not an ambi-turner, so as soon as he reaches a wall, we've got to drag him out so he can start all over again. He's very into his chew toys right now as I think he's in the very first stages of teething.
I hate to jinx ourselves, but the last three nights, Hamilton has slept the whole night. He's gone down at 8:30 and stayed down until 5, 5:30, and 6. Hopefully this isn't just a trend!
I took Hamilton to meet Seth and Bryce for some after work refreshments, and he needed changed so I dressed him in scrubs to be like the boys. He is stinkin' adorable, is he not?
He thinks he can hold his own bottle now, and is a very "active" eater (pulling my hair, grabbing my face and rubbing his eyes). We're not planning to start solids until 6 months, so right now I'm enjoying the cuddle times and the general cleanliness of bottles compared to baby food.
In school, things were a bit nuts last week. Spring has sprung, and the kids are nuts. After two years together, they're all a bit sick of each other and the cattiness and whiny-ness is rampant. After not sending one kid to the principal all year, 2 of mine spent 2 days of recesses there after chanting the F word before school. I'm hoping that now that the weather has finally improved, we can begin our end of the year good times and enjoy each other for our last month together.
On that note, this is a writing sample from one of my kiddos. After learning about dinosaurs, the prompt was to "Explain your theory of how and why the dinosaurs became extinct." You tell me if I need to re-teach the concept.
"Maybe they were extinct because a assgroid (asteroid) hit the earth or they ran out of food. Plus the boogie man haunted the dinosaurs. And maybe they all just ataked bechuder (attacked each other) and all of them died. Or when the cave men ran out of underwear, the dinosaur fainted. Plus they mite have ran out of water or Santa Claws did a magic spell on them and they disapered. Maybe zombies mite have invated there home when the dinosaurs were sleeping. Plus there mite have been hot gisers and they thought it was a nice place to lay there egg and got killed by the gisers."
Hmmm.... creative at least!

Duh! Totally stinken adorable!
Please PLEASE tell Hammy that he doesn't have to be afraid and ashamed that he is not an ambi-turner. Even if he cannot turn left until he is an adult male model who is ridiculously good looking, there is just no shame in that! It will happen just when he needs it most.....
Brint: You know what would help you sort through these important issues?
Derek Zoolander: What?
Brint, Meekus, and Rufus: ORANGE MOCHA FRAPPUCCINO!!!
