Total Eclipse of the Heart

Yes, people, it's here. I know you've all been anxiously awaiting my oh-so unbiased review of the latest installment of the Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

After a small, tasteful pre-party (blood red table cloth, white chocolate blood fondue, and Bloody Mary drinks), Kayla and I headed to the theater to meet Jenn and Chris (yes, Chris is male for those of you with your head currently cocked to the side like an inquisitive yellow lab).

The movie was, in a word, delightful. With a bigger budget, a different director and some "maturation" of the stars, this is definitely the best of the three Twilight movies. While the corny-ness is still there (it is, after all, a movie about falling desperately in love with vampires and werewolves), the dialogue has been toned down so we weren't cringing in embarrassment quite as often.

The action was... fine. The acting was... good. But the sexual tension? Palpable. Come on, did you really think the girls are crazy about this movie for the special effects? I think deep down, girls all over the world love the idea of a man (or vampire?) with the indefatigable desire to "preserve your virtue," even in the face of all that temptation. And let's not forget about Jacob. The ladies are drawn to the idea of two men who would risk their lives for the woman they love and her happiness.

Predictable? Yes. Cheesy? A bit. Wonderful? Oh yeah.
